New moms usually focus on the first steps, the first words. The joint attention milestone is just as important. It typically develops between 9-12 months.
Joint attention gives us so much information about what another person might be thinking. Thinking about others’ plans is a huge development.
Looking out for these communication milestones is extremely important in social development.
