It’s not just about the flapping. Girls with autism are hard to diagnose. Early detection through the ADOS can provide a label and refer to services to support her in the social world.


Autism in girls is very hard to diagnose. Most of these girls are great at “masking” their social deficits. Meaning they hide their challenges and copy their typical peers around them to fit in.
